Air Defense Radio Network Reaches Significant Milestones

C4i recently completed customer training and delivery of the first 7 sites of an Air Defense Radio Network for the Royal Thai Air Force. The system involves over 150 operator positions and hundreds of radios spread across multiple operations centres and remote radio sites. The sites are linked by a mix of microwave and optical fibre.

C4i's Switchplus building blocks of Radio Interface Units (RIUs) and Operator Interface Units (OIUs) form the basis of this system. SIP signaling and redundant Commservers are used throughout. The RIU is also key to provision of data link interface capability which will be incorporated into the system in the future.

A number of sites have already been installed and two major operations centre configurations are currently undergoing integration testing in preparation for FAT.
